The Tool I Wish I Had
As the Director of Riverforge Ltd, a B2B marketing consultancy based in London, I've spent years navigating the unique challenges of running a Limited Company in the UK. Like many of you, my most frequent headache wasn't finding clients, but finding the 'sweet spot' between salary and dividends.
I remember the endless loops: pouring over HMRC guidelines at 11 PM, cross-referencing AI advice from ChatGPT, and debating the logic with multiple accountants who all seemed to have slightly different interpretations of the "optimal" strategy.
I wanted a single source of truth, a tool that didn't just give me a number, but showed me the *why* behind it. When I couldn't find a calculator that accurately handled the upcoming 2026/27 tax changes or the nuances of marginal relief, I decided to build it myself.

Before we go further, let's be clear: I am a software developer and marketing consultant, not a regulated financial advisor or chartered accountant.
I combined my development skills with months of tax-planning research to codify the logic into a transparent, jargon-free simulator. My mission is to empower UK directors to have data-backed conversations with their accountants rather than entering meetings with just questions.
Codifying the Logic
This isn't a simplified "black box" calculator. Every line of code in the DirectorDividends simulator is mapped to official legislation. I've built it to handle the complex interactions between Corporation Tax, National Insurance, and the Personal Allowance taper.

I know how sensitive financial data is. That's why I designed this tool with a "Privacy First" architecture. Unlike other calculators that capture your data for lead generation, DirectorDividends processes everything client-side (in your browser).
Your turnover, salary, and pension details are never stored on our servers, never sold to third parties, and never tracked. When you refresh the page, your data is gone.
